Rabies Clinic

The Borough of Wenonah and the Lions Club will be sponsoring a free rabies clinic at the Wenonah Fire House on the 10th from 11 to 12:30. For your convenience the tax office will be open during the same hours to license your pet.

 Vulture Festival

The East Coast Vulture Festival will be Saturday, March 7th from 1:00 to 10:00 pm. This years event features programs by The Academy of Natural Sciences. The Children's Fair will be at the Wenonah Community Center from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. The festivities continue at the Wenonah School with the evening roost from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Tickets for the festival are $18 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. For tickets call 856-468-6536 or e-mail tickets@eastcoastvulturefestival.org. Founders' Day

Take a step back in time to celebrate Wenonah's Train Station. The free celebration will be on April 18th from 10-12:30 at the Wenonah Train Station. The event will include historical displays, kids crafts, and live music. The rain date for this event will be Sunday April 19th.

Wine and Cheese Social

The Wenonah Fire Co. Auxiliary and the Woman's Club of Wenonah will be hosting a Wine, Appetizer, and Cheese Social on March 21 from 4-7 at the Train Station. Tickets for the event can be purchased from any member of either organization for $15.00 or they can be purchased at the door for $18.00. This is an adult only event. Borough Wide Yard Sale

The Borough Yard Sale will be on April 25th at 8:00 am. The map of all yard sale participants will be available the morning of the yard sale at the Train Station (2 N. East Ave.).

Clean Communities Day

Clean Communities day will be May 9th. Registration will be at the Train Station from 8:30 to 9:30 am. For information contact John Howard at 468-4624.

Karen Sweeney, our Borough Clerk, would like to thank everyone for their hard work and participation in our Clean Communities Day!!

 

Wenonah Lake

The lake will be opening on May 23rd for weekends only. Starting June 20th the lake will be open full time. Lake tags will be available to purchase at the lake and also at the Borough Municipal Building.

 

Garden Fair and Tour

A garden tour of Wenonah will be June 6th beginning at 10 am in the Wenonah Park. They will be having a perennial exchange and The Wenonah Greenhouses will be providing a tour of their facilities. The garden tour will be from 11-2. Tickets are $10.00 and advance tickets will be available at The Wenonah Greenhouses. For more information contact Kathy Howard at (856) 308-4332.

There is a donation box located in the parking lot next to the police station across from the fire house for those who would like to donate. July 4th Celebration

Festivities begin at 8:00 A.M. with the "Salute at Sunrise" and continue until the last event beginning at 7:30 P.M. with the Bonsall Blues Band Concert in the park. The parade begins at 8:45. Those who would like to participate can find applications at the Italian Market at 2 Mantua Ave. Entrants must register by 1:00 P.M. July 3rd to be eligible for prizes.

September 25 & 26

Mark you calendars for an eventful weekend here in Wenonah. On September 25th the Wenonah Police Department will be hosting the 1st Community Night Out. It will take place at the Wenonah Park from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Included will be a night of free family entertainment, education, food, refreshments, and giveaways. September 26th is the 21st Annual Wenonah Harvest Craft Fair in the park also the Memorial Presbyterian Church will he holding an art festival. The craft fair is from 9 am to 4 pm. Those who would like to register for a space can contact Tara Tully (468-5316) for rules and fees. Deadline for registration is Friday September 11th. The rain date for the craft fair will be October 3rd. The art festival will be located at the church at 202 E. Mantua Ave. It will be held from 1-4 pm. For information and tickets call 468-5698

Sewer Bills

You should be receiving your sewer bill for 2009 by September 12th. The bill is due on October 1st with a grace period to October 15th. Late payments will receive a 10% penalty.  If you do not receive a bill, please call the Tax Office at 468-5228 and we will tell you what is owed on your account.  Please do not wait until after the bill is due to contact us.

Winter House Tour

The Wenonah Fire Co. Auxiliary and the Woman’s Club of Wenonah are still looking for houses to be featured in the bi-annual house tour which is planned for Sunday, December 6th. A minimum of six (6) homes is needed to proceed with the tour. This is a primary fundraiser for the two organizations and we are hoping to have the usual well attended affair. If you wish to participate, or know someone else who you think should, please call Laurie Christinzio at 468-6566 (or the Tax office 468-5228) and she will give you all the information concerning the tour.

Pet Licenses

Keep your eye out for your pet licensing reminder which you should receive the last week of December. Licensing for 2010 is done between January 1st and March 31st. If you have an unregistered pet (you will not be receiving a notice), please bring in a current rabies certification, which must not expire before November 1st, and proof of spay/neuter if it has been done.  Licenses for spayed/neutered pets are $7.00; $5.00 dollars additional for pets who are not.

Due to the rain forecast for today, the Night Of Song And Dance has been postponed until October 10, 2009. It will start at 6:00 pm and admission is $15 per person. Please mark your calendars. (Proceeds benefit the Wenonah Lake Association.)

Train Station Dedication

Celebrate the dedication of the historic Wenonah Train station on Saturday, December 5th at 5:00 pm.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Remember to mark your calendars for the official Wenonah Tree Lighting Ceremony which takes place in the Wenonah Park this  Saturday, December 5 at 5:30 pm. The elementary school choir will sing, there will be treats and a visit from Santa!

Wenonah Holiday House Tour

The annual Wenonah Holiday House Tour will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 2:00 pm through 7:00 pm. Meet at the Wenonah Train Station to get your tickets and details of where to go.
